One avenue of releasing toxins from the body is through perspiration. For this reason a sauna can be very helpful in ridding the body of toxins. When the body is invaded by a bacteria, or virus, often a temperature spikes. This is the way the human body rids itself of nasty infections. Most bacteria and viruses live within a very narrow temperature range. The fever that is spiked is actually a way the body heals itself.
Toxins, such as the chemicals found in the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe enter into our cells and cause unpleasant effects, such as weight gain, loss of energy, sluggish brain activity, and unexplainable “aches” and “pains”. Detox diets are one way to rid the body of these toxins. Using a sauna is another way. The sauna can be used in conjunction with the detox diet as a way to help the body release the toxins that have built up in it.
A sauna effect can be achieved without having a “real” sauna, simply by taking a shower in water that is as hot as you can stand it. Place a sitting stool in the shower and spend enough time to feel the body heat up. Or steam up your bathroom with a running hot shower, and then sit in a tub of water as hot as you can stand it. Add natural bath salts, an herbal blend or essential oil recommended by your health counselor. Drink a hot ginger tea while in the bath to help work up a sweat. Always have someone in the area to help you if you feel weak after the sauna bath. Do not cool down too fast. The beneficial effects of the sauna are obtained from the heat. Sweating is good and the desired effect.
Loss of excess weight, is a result of the loss of toxins through a sauna or a detox diet. So try either or both to lose weight and feel better.
