The lungs, like many other parts of the body can become filled with toxins and impurities which is why many people want to know how to do a lung detox. However as this is not as mainstream as other detox methods it is understandable to be skeptical about lung detoxification and want to know is it the real deal or just a hoax! Let us start with a few myths surrounding a lung detox.
How can our lungs keep toxins in them, don’t we just breathe them out?
While we are always breathing air in and out not all of the toxins, microbes and assorted other particles go out. The lungs are moist and those particles can stick to the inside of the lungs. This is not usually a problem for healthy lungs which have white blood cells called macrophages that flush these impurities out of the body. The big problem with smokers is that those macrophages are blocked by a layer of TAR that has accumulated from smoking which if no lung detox is done will take 10 to 20 years to naturally remove! This means those toxins remain in your lung protected by tar causing infection and cancer too!
The lungs are different than other body parts and a detox cannot be done on this organ!
While the lungs are quite unique compared to other bodily organs they are still linked to every other part and the blood stream. The detox of your lungs may work in a completely different fashion than a liver detox it still can be done as the purpose is to remove toxins in any way you can to improve respiratory health and purify your lungs!
Cleaning out your lungs does not stop you smoking, it just cleans it to be dirtied again
While addiction to cigarettes can be very hard to shake it has been shown that smokers who cleanse their lungs of the tar and nicotine that has been accumulating there over the years actually find smoking to be unpleasant. While this may not seem like much a lung detox will help you reduce the nicotine cravings as the chemicals are flushed away faster and when that physical addiction is gone AND the pleasure you used to gain from lighting up turns to coughing and feeling ill the mind quickly adjusts to view cigarettes as ill advised and painful.
If you are a smoker or have been a smoker you probably feel the effects of toxic lungs. Shortness of breath, coughing, reduced lung capacity, bronchitis and many other ailments too. This CAN be reversed by a method of removing that tar that is inhibiting your body’s natural lung detox processes and then promoting inner health to kick the macrophages and other cleansing systems into high gear to give you completely pink, clean lungs in less than a year!
