Have you ever tried to treat the ringworm infection? This is one of the many fungal infections that your skin could suffer from. It is caused by a group of fungus called dermatophytes. Since ringworm in humans develops on various parts, it means that each type of infection is caused by a certain dermatophyte. This ailment looks horrible when it occurs on the visible parts of your body. In some communities, people associate ring worm and a few other skin diseases that cause rashes with poor personal hygiene.
This is incorrect since ring-worm is a disease that can affect both clean and dirty people. As long as the fungus has been passed to your coat you can become sick. It is easy to know when you have the disorder of the body (tinea corporis) because the round or oval shaped rings appear on your hands, face, neck, trunk, thighs and so on. However, if you have ringworm of the foot, also called athlete’s foot, you may feel a bit unsure of your condition.
This is particularly true if you become a victim of foot sole ringworm. It mostly forms on top of the dead layers of the callus. Calluses form mostly on the feet soles because of friction or pressure caused by small shoes. They are insensitive to the touch because they are actually dead cells formed naturally by your skin to protect its inner tissues. The dermatophyte that causes ring-worm on feet soles feed on the dead cells.
The disorder of the toes is very easy to identify because it occurs on the top side and can affect the toenails. A victim is advised to seek immediate treatment to prevent the fungus from entering the nail region. Toes that are being consumed by athlete’s foot fungi develop blisters because of the inflammation. When they enter the nails they cause yellowing or bluish color and it is difficult to eliminate them.
They can become brittle, flaky and can even disintegrate easily. Even your finger nails can get infected but this is rare. Tinea carpitis or the ringworm of the scalp is very common in children or adults who have cancer or other diseases that lowers the body immunity. The rings may not have the same size or develop singly. Sometimes they can overlap or leave dry, scaly patches without hair. While the disorder is left to heal naturally, treatment is very much recommended. Tinea carpitis is obviously an ailment that causes a serious beauty flaw whether in children or adults.
Men commonly catch ring-worm on their groin or inner thighs. The problem with any fungal infection is that it causes itchiness and it is obviously embarrassing to scratch your groin in public. Even though the marks are hidden you should get a diagnosis and treatment. If you have not yet developed this infection, you want to stay away from sick pets. Ringworm in humans is caused by the same dermatophytes that infect dogs and cats. If possible, you should also take your pet to the veterinary to avoid spreading the disease.
