People have different ways of unwinding, relaxing, and pampering themselves. When there’s a lot of time to spare, some people go on vacations. But if you’re looking for a quick fix, a spa, massage, or manicure would be your best bet.

Depending on where you go to get a manicure, getting a hand massage is a service that you must avail to truly complete the experience. But aside from the relaxing experience, you might be surprised to know that there are other benefits that you can get from such a service. Although quick, the benefits you get are still significant.

1. Relief from pain. This benefit gets even better especially if you work with your hands a lot and are experiencing pain. It could also be an indication of some underlying health condition that is having a bad effect on the muscles of your hands. Whatever it is, massaging the hands helps in blood circulation helping the body send much-needed nutrients and oxygen to your tired hands. As a matter of fact, some studies show that massaging your hands regularly can lessen the pain and even improve the strength of your grip. So whenever you can, even when not getting a manicure, take the time to massage your hands.

2. Improve blood circulation. Oftentimes, if you feel a tingling, sharp, and numbing feeling in your hands, it could mean they are receiving an insufficient amount of oxygen. This is especially true for people who have repetitive tasks like people who work in offices where a lot of typing is done. Regular massages are advised in order to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome or CTS. But even if you are in no danger of CTS, increasing the blood flow to the hands can still help if you have sprains, strains, or when recovering from a hand injury.

3. Improving your hands’ range of motion. Doing repetitive tasks and some conditions can tighten the muscles in then hands. This can affect the range of motion or mobility of the hands and wrists. It can even be very painful when moved. You will need to have your hands massaged if you can’t do it yourself so that the tight muscles can be loosened again.

If you need to spend extra for a massage after getting a manicure, don’t hesitate to get it, you can be sure that it’s money well spent as the benefits definitely outweigh the small amount you need to pay.
