Whether it’s a friendly game of Football or an organized cricket match, playing sports can make you healthier and happier because of the physical activity involved. Sport and physical activity are crucial for life-long healthy living. Sport and play improve health and well-being, extend life expectancy and reduce the likelihood of several non-communicable diseases including heart disease.

Regular physical activity and sports are essential for physical, mental, psychological and social development. Good habits start early: The important role of physical education and sports can very well be observed by the fact that children who exercise are more likely to stay physically active as adults. Sports also plays a positive role in one’s emotional health, and allows building valuable social connections, often offering opportunities for play and self-expression.

Playing sports contributes to muscle development, coordination, cardiovascular health and numerous other benefits associated with disease prevention; physical activity can help ward of chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity and depression.

The most important keys to good health are adequate rest, proper nutrition and consistent exercise. Playing a sport is an excellent way to meet one’s need for consistent exercise. A strong heart is important for a long healthy and productive life. Training for most sports demands a consistent improvement in cardiovascular strength. This is usually addressed by running, swimming laps or by the practice that is most required for all type of sports. Strength training is very important to health. Each muscle of the human body needs to be exercised regularly in order for them to remain strong and grow. Most sports include strengthening the muscles as a regular part of their training routine. Push-ups, pull-ups, stomach crunches, dips and squats allow one to use their own body weight to build muscle strength. Stretching is also an integral part of exercise. Stretching makes your muscles limber and allow blood to flow through them more freely. Exercising regularly even if it is in small amounts is a major key to good health. Playing sports is an excellent way to strengthen your heart and all your other muscles while having lots of fun. Most people involved in sports practice three times a week or more and often several times a day. This helps to keep the muscles in top physical condition. It also has a positive effect on mental health, stress level and moods. Playing a sport does not mean working toward becoming a professional. Just playing a sport you like a few hours a week can have a profound effect on your health. A sport not only holds a key place in life in terms of health, if you club your passion with management skills then it could be a great career option too.

Also, now a days, students are looking to grow their career in sports management. So, these days sports and health plays an equal role in today’s scenario. So in the end one could say that playing sports not only vital for your physical and mental health but can also improve your lifestyle.
